Welcome to the Future of Dental Imaging
From diagnostics and treatment to superior image quality, digital imaging builds efficiency into every interaction between our dentist and you. The field of dental digital impressions is quickly growing, as evidenced by the number of new scanner systems with more features and benefits, increasing the differences between digital impressions vs. conventional impressions. There are systems that use a blue LED (light-emitting diode), such as optical scanners that depend upon a reflective surface and require a contrasting medium or powder to acquire a representation of the tooth morphology. There are also systems that use laser technology to scan and measure distances from the tooth surface to acquire the image. Digital X-rays are one of the most important advancements in dentistry. This technology replaces conventional X-rays, reducing the use of film, harsh chemicals and waste materials used to capture the images. Unlike traditional X-rays, digital X-rays use less radiation. They also make it easier for our dentist to accurately and efficiently reach a diagnosis as their processing time is faster, providing immediate results.
An intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes an image of the outside of the gum or tooth. The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen. While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dentist inserts the camera into a patient's mouth and gently shifts it about so that images can be taken from a variety of angles.Read more about Intraoral Camera
iTero Dental Impressions
The iTero Intraoral Scanner allows doctors to take a 3D digital scan of a patient’s teeth and bite rather than using a viscous impression material. This digital impression scanner can be used for veneers, crowns, bridges, surface inlays, onlays, implant abutments from single units to full arches and even modeling an Invisalign treatment. Patients are also able to view before and simulated after images of their dental treatments on an in-office computer display.Read more about iTero Dental Impressions
